We made it to Salthill, a suburb of Galway City, along the north side of Galway Bay.
Here's our apartment where we have a front unit overlooking Galway Bay...
So, just as the song goes, we get to "...watch the moon rise over Claddagh..." in the direction of the photo below...
And then "...watch the sun go down on Galway Bay..." when we look out in the direction of the photo below...
The only hard part is that we've been spoiled by the "Golden" (Old Timers) package back at the Hotel Westport that included full breakfasts and four-course dinners.
So, now it's microwave oatmeal and brown bread toast for breakfast and dining out on "pub grub" and pizzas. (But, actually, that's "right up our alley.")
We got to Saturday evening Mass at the same, Christ the King church which made it so handy to walk right across the street to our favorite "pizza parlor" in Ireland---"DaRoberta's" that is run by an Italian couple who originally came from Tuscany to open their restaurant in Ireland. (We'll have to ask them how that ever happened.)
And there's "DaRoberta's," located at a new spot, two doors up from where they were last year. We'd have photos of our lovely pizzas, but we were too busy eating them to take out time for photos.
We don't have too much planned for this week in Salthill. We figured we would need to rest up a bit from all our chasing in and around Westport. But there are horse races to consider and several folk music shows. There is also an interesting book store to find, "Kenny's" and also visiting downtown Galway City around "Erye Square."
As the T-shirt in the photo below shows, we'll probably go for a "Sunday Drive" out to the art/craft town of Spideal (spid'-ul) tomorrow and maybe try to find the White Gables Restaurant in Moycullen that our landord, Des, told us about.
Hope you all have a pleasant Sunday as well, right there were "We Left You Behind In America."
